Grant Process
The Knox Foundation welcomes applications consistent with its mission year-round and the Board meets monthly to consider requests. Through its Small Grants Program, Knox makes awards for $2,000 or less to support project work in the areas of Education, Youth Development, Arts/Culture, Health/Human Services, Recreation or Civics. Note that:
- Applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations or be working in a programmatic partnership with a 501(c)(3) organization that can serve as fiscal agent.
- Awards must primarily benefit Hartford residents.
- Knox will not fund an organization for more than two years in a row and generally does not fund capital campaigns, schools-based programs or individuals.
- Proposals requesting a modest sum to complete the funding required to do a project or to cover a program crisis are encouraged. Requests will not be approved retroactively for programs or events that have already taken place.
